This year also announced the arrival of a Doe-Boekje – a small booklet with information and games for kids as well as colorplates for them to color in based on a selection of cartoons presented in the festival. You can freely download a low-res version of the Doe-Boekje HERE.
Besides the trading cards and the illustrations featured in the “Doe-Boekje” I was also tasked in creating about 100 several illustrations featuring more realistic portrayals of history’s most influential inventions.
These illustrations were used on information-boards around the festival to teach visitors about the inventor and his or her invention.
2016 Edition – All About Animals
For the 2016 version of the Cartoonfestival in Knokke the assignment was “Allemaal Beestjes”.
I once again created a lot of characters that were used for a trading card game and given to people visiting the festival. I also created a 13m at 2m illustration used to cover the entry wall of the building.
