Where does the money go when a campaign still runs?

The money goes into a bank account and is separate from all other funds in order to assure that no money will leave the account during the time of the campaign. This to ensure that refunds are possible and that the project has the total amount of pledged money available at the end of the project to achieve it’s fulfillment.
